It's a crazy life.
I love London, it amazes me that you can spend your weekends in one of the most iconic cities in the world and the more, I am here, the more I see, the cooler it gets. This weekend was truly mad!
On Sat I went to the National Gallery to see the Manet to Picasso exhibiton. Oh my goodness every time I see these amazing paintings I am floored. I get tingles down my spine and goosebumps. I love it. The exhibition was absolutely wicfked. Manets. Monets, Van Gogh's Sunflowers....ahhh. Cezannes' Bathers (YES ARNOLD I KNOW!!!!!!!)Truly lost for words. I am LOVING the fact that I get to stand in front of some of the most famous art in the world on my weekends. But the cool thing is that I really do appreciate it. I am not taking any of this for granted and I feel very very lucky.
I then met up with Ben and we went out for what was suppose to be a quite dinner for a night that turned into absolute carnage. It was amazing. We met up with Kiat and Leesh, Lani and Steve and us Ogilvarians hit London. Had dinner in Chinatown and then headed to Covent Garden for cocktails. We pretty much got through the entire cocktail menu jug after jug. Bloody hilarious. Wicked to catch up. Following the sugar high we were on... and the fact some were new to London, we ended up at 3 in the morning in Trafalgar Square, where we thought it would be a brilliant idea to climb ontop of the Lions in front of the Monument. Whoa, it was quite high and I was a little shakey but soooooo funny!!! All of us piling onto it. hahha. Then straight into a red phone box for another pic. This morning I had 133 photos on my camera we were such posers all night. Angry looking pics, silly ones, stanch ones. There was a lot of laughing, lots of banter and a lot of noise. Very funny. We ended up at 4 something, the sun starting to come up...in North London where we crashed till this morning.
No rest for the wicked I was up and still very energetic (go the sugar) zoomed home changed and back into town to see the Kylie Minogue exhibition at the V&A with Mel, we then went to Hyde Park where we paddled paddle boats around the Serpentine in the sun - absolute bliss.
Starting to fade, I came home forced down some tea and the headed to Camden (tres cool man, and SO many beautiful people!!!) to see Steriogram play at a bar. It was pretty much jammed with kiwis but very cool to see a NZ band live in London. Saw a few familar faces and had a boogee, watched a "little person" stage dive and then manage to get the lead singer standing on his shoulders, and then have now arrived home. Shattered!!
Wicked another week and then a long weekend. Dad we are going to STONHENGE!!! hahaha.
Anyway that is me people, my life. Living the dream baby!! Miss you guys, hope NZ is not too cold and love you like ants love sugar.

A London weekend.

Hey hey, I had myself a rather jam packed weekend, desided to make the most of what was a rainy one and go soak up this wicked city.
It was off to the London Dungeons on Sat where we crept through the dark, squealing, through a maze of rooms and passage ways learning about the London Fire, Jack the Ripper, The Great Plague and all other dark parts of London history. Surrounded by scary actors popping out left right and centre, we at one stage, were on a log flume in the pitch back - you can imagine how thrilled I was about it. They have cameras that flash and you can see your pics when you come out the other side..everyone on our log looked like they were having a marvey time - I however was pretty much buried behind my friend next to me. Ahh! Petrified! Go the adrenaline! Good times, heaps of fun and really interesting. Think Spookers in NZ, in caves and alleyways.
Then it was off for a wonder round Borough markets, ahh the food and the smells and the lollies and yummyness of it all. Truly a sensory overload. Piles of olives and oysters, brownies and fresh bread it was splendid, and felt very London. Recovering from an engagement party last night we headed to the V & A to see the Surreal Things Exhibition today.
To quote Dali "I try to create fantastic things, magical things, things like in a dream. The world needs more fantasy". Oh and it was fantastic and magic. The furniture especially bonkers and very very cool. I do feel rather blessed that I get to see some of the most famous art in the world. It never falters to take my breath away. I am so glad that 6 years of art history is finally paying off...I caught a reflection of myself standing and staring at the ruby and pearl lips broach of Dali's, my mouth was wide open. Looked like a right nerd. Ahhh.
Anyway I am off to sleep. Haven't done much of that lately. Speak soon my lovelies.

The latest.
Kia ora! Have spent the weekend up North just outta Manchester, the weather was shot but it was lovely all the same. Dad you would of been so proud of me on Sunday (well of my friends) who dragged me along to the British Superbike Championships at Oulton park to watch motorbikes zoom around the course at 200 miles an hour all day. Next thing you know I will be going to Rolling Stones Concerts, sailing a yacht and I'll be the perfect daughter!! haha. The boys loved it...Jamie you and Dad would of loved it. Hmmm.
Other news - well work have offered me a full time position, so I guess this is it for a while people. London is a home away from home. They are also talking sponsorship when my visa is up, so I must be doing something right. All good, I love working with Cara and we are getting some fun stuff through so that's neat. Yay!
Travel wise Off to Madrid in June to a festival, then Venice the weekend after that and am desperately trying to convince my friends that we should go to Salzburg and do the Sound Of Music Tour, to say they are mildly keen would be an understatement. Why I have noooo idea!
Anyway here's a pic. I love ya all.
Yurdle Durdle.
