I am in love.

Madly, truly deeply. I can't seem to get enough of this city. I don't like to sleep cause it means I am missing out! So much more settled than before, less like a possum in headlights and no more tears thank gosh! This has to brief as I have heaps of work to do, but quick overveiw of the weekend...I stayed in Brixton with a couple of mates who are so much fun and it went something like this...

Cidar and new friends at the "local" on Friday night, a massive hangover on Sat, which I refused to let ruin my day so we dragged ourselves through Harrods (oh poor me) through the lollies and fish and handbags and perfumes and clothes - pretending we had the money to buy stuff. Funny, got a text from a mate at home...out on the town..and I am standing there looking at Jimmy Choos..Very surreal. Had the best coffee yet in South Kensington.. It was then off to Hyde park where we fed the squirrels nuts then out to a beautiful restaurant in Clapham for tea. ahhhh

Sunday- I went to the Columbia St flower markets with a guy I met back home, that was super lovely, tulips crammed down the streets, amarylis by the bunches...the smells, the colours, the hussle...I was in heaven, it was just like My Fair lady Cockney accents yelling "2 bunches for a fiva, 2 bunches for a fiva". Brilliant. We had lunch in a deli that smelt so good, great coffee utter indulgence. It was then off to meet a friend and we went to V & A mmm The history, the paintings, the fashion exhibition was wicked...we then went and spent about an hour rustling through beautiful books in a little store in South Kensington, then mango slices in a paper bag and we were off home.

Vodka and a roast, a movie, phone call home and bed.

Delightful. I love it and miss you all, but am truly having the time of my life.

Chinese New Year

Oh and me and mel in the crowd see if you spot us, mussels the size of a 20 cents piece, the Thames at night. We toasted at dinner and I think it is the best toast I have ever heard "may these be the worst days of our lives". Whoop de whoop. And a yurdle durdle to all.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Be still my beating heart we had sun.

And what a difference it made. Me, my ipod, and espresso (double straight, flat whites don't exist and lattes are lots of brown milk) made our way to Green Park where I sat and watched London go by, it really is something...pigeons, tourists, people all wrapped up and kids running around. ahhhh. Then I headed to meet an ole mate Mel and her partner at the Ritz (as you do) then headed off to explore and soak up London. We ended up in Covent Garden where we sat with ciders, in the sun, on a deck and watched all the street performers in the square. Magic, magic, magic...sometimes (actually most of the time) it is all so surreal. The hussle, the crowds, the beggars (some who still manage to have money for smokes and alcohol) the fact no one smiles on the tube...We then headed down to Trafalgar Square and I bounced around with excitement, wandered down to the Thames and down to Victoria station where I headed to another mates. I really can't describe this all...before I left someone said to me (cheesy I know) but this quote..."life is not about how many breaths you take, but the moments in life that take your breath away", there are so bloody many of them here. Heart skipping moments...well maybe that's cause I am a dorky tourist and aren't "tres cool London baby" just yet. hahah I don't care.

Headed to my friends Sarah's and we went to bowling for a guy James' birthday..it was like the matrix man! esculators and blue neon...crazy!!! Like a massive Time Out except you could drink. ha. So we spent the night out with a massive crew from NZ, which I know everyone says don't do (the whole only hang with Kiwis thing) but it is incredibly comforting sometimes having a big hug and chat with someone that calls you bro. hee hee. Happy Days.

Just home now and off to China Town for Chinese New Year. I love the motivation you seem to get here...there is so much to see, on Fri night we went to a light show on the Thames...in a month off to a party in Paris. Nuts. Don't want to miss a second. Although my snuggly bed feels rather nice right now.

Here are pics from my last couple of days. I do miss you all at home, yesterday when I woke up it reminded me of summer mornings in NZ when you hop out of the shower and the fresh air smells so good as it rushes through the windows and along the wooden floors. And how on summer days everyone would pile in the car and head out to the beach, beers, sunblock, sand in your hair. Enjoy it people, I miss you and love you all so very much - as much as I love my new fav breakfast of rolled oats with soy milk and natural yogurt, banana and honey. mmmm (you'd love it Robin).

Cheerio kisses, cuddles and lots of warm fuzzies.

Nearly week one over...

Well oh well it has been quite a week. Ogilvy is madness 800 people, a bar, a cafe, bags, mousepads and the food all branded (yes, I kid you not) oh and the ashtrays, cool people, funky people, ad people. Working with a wicked copywriter she is a kiwi too, so that's cool. It is just like home I was surprised how easily I slipped back into it. I am rather tired now though. Dunno if that's because of work or that I went out last night. Yep Valentines Day and I refused to be at home with a couple. Have a good weekend planned...gonna go explore London have to see the tower bridge and wanna do some more galleries. whoop whoop. Here are some random pics and just for the fam my bed! ahahha

Second weekend in London Baby!

Yep, yep ohhh how they can drink the English. I tell you. So on Friday night I went to Mayfair with a friend Aaron and had a lovely ole time. Brilliant soooo beautiful, so packed! But the way they drink! I (yes I know me), couldn't keep up. Then on Sat I went to the flat with the girls and took some pics, it is really nice apart from the nappies that were in the backyard that foxes left! Urghhh! Then we just looked at shops and mosied around. Last night stayed at my friend Ange's boyfrinds place after a very drunken night out in Balham where we met some nice people and spent the night laughing and drinking with them. It is a really sweet area, as is Clapham. Cool bars. Then today I faced Oxford St the shopping the shopping the shopping! Tessa there are sooooooo many shoes here that are so you! When I get paid there will be treats all around! I promise. I was so overwhelmed at TopShop I had to leave. haha Work tomorrow ahhh bit nervous but it'll be alright. Just hope I can remember how to draw. ha

Anyway my lovelies I am shagged.

Love to the love,

Miss you xxxxoooo

My new world.

Thought I would write on this blog as I am trying to avoid going down to the gym and into the cold. A brief summary of the last two weeks...I really am in love with this city and it is crazy how much you learn about yourself - how much you surprise yourself when you are doing it alone. Well that is a bit of an exaggoration, I have a couple of wonderful friends who really have helped me get into it. I have seen so much and been going so fast I don't know where to begin.

My highlights - The Tate Modern, be still my beating heart. The lolly shop at the Greenwich markets and the way the whole place smells like marshmellows. Stepping out into the night and seeing Big Ben for the first time and all the blue fairylights sprinkled through the trees. Hoping on an esculator at Bond St Station and hearing a busker playing The Sound of Music on a sax (heard it on a flute last night too!). Covent Garden at night time, the people, the hussle, the chaos ahhhh.

Then there was the snow, I had a meeting and got off at the wrong station which meant me and my A to Z went for a wander for MILES in the snow. I must of looked like a right nutter..while everyone else is hurrying along (I was trying but so afraid I would slip) I had my tongue out trying to figure out what snow tasted like and was fasinated and found it rather sweet how snowflakes when they're falling, stick to your eyelashes. Bless.

There haven't really been any bummers I am kinda taking it all as it comes. Last night was interesting, I was on the last tube home and it took 2 hours which meant I missed the train to the place I am staying. Brilliant, so it is like 2 in the morning and I was completely lost for what to do, luckily I met a lovely Parisan guy and this Aussie chickie and they put me on a bus and drew me a map...which I still managed to get lost on, so ended up in the middle of the street with no one around a little panicked..(sorry Mum, this is probably freaking you out) got it sorted though hailed a cabbie and made him take me home (even though he had finished his shift). Wicked.

Start work on Monday at OgilvyOne freelancing at first to see if I like it and they like me and we'll go from there. Be nice to get into it and start earning pounds.

The coolest thing is the people you get to catch up with again, old friends, new friends. I went to see a Kiwi band play last night with a friend I haven't seen for years...classic just like at home...familar faces. Random. Then off to meet another mate tonight. People really pick you up and look after you, I do miss my crew there, especially in the mornings and when I call and you are all doing your day to day stuff. It's true Aunty Em, there really is no place like home.

Rosita is coming to stay soon yeeeeeeeeeeeeehahhahahahhahahaahah! We are both as excited as the other I think and I have no doubt that this is gonna be a bit of a weekend occurance (when we have the dosh) Amterdam, Paris, London. Oh gives me butterflies.

Anyway you've probably fallen asleep by now it is just so exciting, I love to be able to tell the people I wuv. Remind me when I start to whine and stuff about this time...my friend said to me last night "remember this, it happens once" and he was so right. I am soaking it up.

Hope you're all well, the sun is shining nicely I hear enjoy it. I am thinking of you all.

Till next time, I love you, like sand loves to stick to sunblock.
