OMG! I don't know where to start. So here goes...I flew outta London on Saturday after a few beers (which made the airport very interesting)..and straight to Barcelona to meet Brooke and Sarah who were flying in from Morocco. After them arriving late, and me thinking I was gonna have to negotiate Spain alone they came through the gates. Soooooooooo amazing to see friends from home. Lots of squealing and shrieking later we hopped on a bus and made our way to our accomodation. Located right near the city, on the water, was our boat that we were staying on (yes that is right, a boat). It was the most amazing setting docked in the jetty, surrounded by sea..we were in absolute paradise. We dumped our stuff and then headed to get some tea (it was like 2 in the morning)...got pita pockets with what the dude descibed as "sexy chilli" on them and headed back to bed. We awoke to the sun, fresh fruit and yoghurt on the deck and all around yummy ness. ahhhhhhhhh. If only I could describe the beauty of it all.
We jumped on a bus and spent the next 2 days site seeing and hanging in the sun. The architecture blew us all away I think...it was truly inspiring to see Gaudi buildings before you...standing in the Sagrada Familia I was actually so taken aback, I said outloud "WOW" at the top of my lungs much to the amusement of the american tourist behind me. Brooke got lost, I took about a thousand photos and Sarah had the brochure and was teaching us all about it. Hilarious.
That night we headed out for Sangria and paella, in a little restaurant on the water front, equiped with people playing violins and accordians. Bloody marvelous. Then headed for vodka on the deck, as the sun set. Where we had the most hilarious chat with the lady who lives on it. She was a Tarot card reader from Scotland I think and informed us when her very straight partner was under deck, that "she was secretly a witch". Brooke was like "A what!??!!! hahahha you can just imagine us all trying to keep it together so funny! Brooke then spent the rest of the trip trying to convince us that we needed to steal a broom off the boat so we could say we had a witches broom stick.
What else - we spent the day at the Park Guell overlooking the city, checked out the Olympic Stadium, ate heaps, visited Gaudi's place, drunk far to much last night and sang all along the boulavard, made a very expensive call home to Leon singing down the phone, bought loats of books, painted a wall, walked over bridges, giggled and chatted loads. It really was absolute magic. There were a few tears at the airport today as I bid them bon voyage and realised just how much I miss and love all of you back home.
Here are some piccies..living the dream. Words just don't do it justice. Truly.
Lib xxxxoooo
